Pre-EMI
Interest-only payments on the disbursed part of an under-construction home loan until full disbursal.
What it means
When a lender disburses a home loan in stages tied to construction progress, you pay interest only on the amount released so far. Full EMIs begin once the loan is fully disbursed, typically at possession.
Pre-EMI keeps early payments low but does not reduce principal. Some lenders let you start full EMIs earlier, which saves interest overall.
