Sanction Letter
What it means
A sanction letter confirms that the lender has approved the loan in principle, subject to conditions such as property verification and document submission. It is valid for a fixed period, commonly three to six months, and is often required for visa applications (education loans) and property registration timelines.
A sanction is not a disbursal. Conditions must be met, the agreement signed and, for secured loans, the security created before funds are released.
